Life is too short to spend weekends at home. It’s all about the memories we create and those memories somewhere make our hectic lives a little easier.
Travelling is one of those activities whose advantages far exceed its disadvantages. It not only makes us happy but also gives us a lot of practical knowledge which we cannot usually gain in our classes.
On short trips during weekends, accommodation in a new city plays a vital role. This is where OYOs come into the picture and help create some fantastic memories. Be it Dharamshala, Nainital, Manali, Darjeeling, Mussoorie or any other weekend getaway; OYO has always got our backs!
My last two weekend destinations have both been hill-stations – Dharamshala and Nainital.
Dharamshala
It is a city in the heart of Himachal Pradesh and is the hometown of the Dalai Lama. It is a beautiful place to visit. The sunset and sunrise are worth watching. The nearby suburb, McLeodGanj is like a combo pack with Dharamshala and offers breathtaking scenery. Look at the mountains and the hills; they will hug you so warmly that you would love to visit the place again and again. The serenity of this place cannot be described in words.
Enjoy some adrenaline rush with breathtaking views of Dharamshala while Paragliding.
Where I stayed in Dharamshala
A homelike experience away from home welcomed me at OYO Homes Khanyara Road. The pocket-friendly yet premium property provided all amenities of a hotel but with the warmth of a homestay. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay here at least once in their lifetime.
Nainital
Nainital is a destination that rejuvenates the body and the soul. It has a pear-shaped lake which is surrounded by mountains and the Jim Corbett National Park is a famous add-on destination located nearby. The famous Naini Lake has its own charm and the momo and corns sold in the market opposite this lake are simply delicious! The nearby tourist attractions like Bhimtal Lake, Sattal Lake and Naukuchiatal Lake are equally attractive.
Where to stay in Nainital
OYO Rooms Near Vikas Bhavan Bhimtal was my abode during my latest trip. Adjacent to the bus stand, this hotel made accessing the various tourist attractions nearby really easy. The hotel had beautiful staircases and wooden rooms which made for an interesting stay.
And the view from the balcony turned out to be one of indescribable beauty! I spent hours admiring the beauty of nature sipping my favorite hazelnut coffee.
Why I Love To Travel
The child inside us gets slowly killed as we struggle to make progress in the corporate world. Or sometimes, we get a little too busy with family and stop doing things that could really make us happy. Travel helps to overcome this situation.
This quote sums my thoughts up nicely –
“If something good happens, travel to celebrate. If something bad happens, travel to forget. If nothing happens, travel so that something happens.”
Travelling can help you rejuvenate your mind and helps brings back your inner child. Just take out your DSLR and click a picture. Sit in the lap of nature and let the flashback of your childhood play in your head. Feels beautiful, doesn’t it?
That’s why a break from your normal routine is so important, and the reason why I travel too.
