The hotel is charming and conveniently located in the city center, yet tucked away on a quiet side street, making it great for exploring the area. However, if you're arriving by car, be cautious. We got there at 1:00 PM, an hour before check-in, and noticed there were three parking spots directly in front of the hotel, plus two more in front of the associated pub. Out of these five spaces, four were vacant. We thought it would be fine to leave our car there and inform the reception that we would check in later after a stroll around the city. Unfortunately, that wasn't allowed! Despite the available spots, we had to wait an hour until check-in time. This meant we had to navigate through the side streets to find a parking space, pay for it, and then return later to use the hotel's parking, which was the main reason we chose this hotel! It was quite frustrating! To top it off, the only car parked in front belonged to a staff member at the reception! We’ve never encountered such inflexible customer service. What was the issue? One could argue that one space should be reserved for guests checking out, but why would they park there in the first place? Regardless, four empty spaces? This felt like unnecessary bureaucracy. Despite this hiccup, our overall experience at the hotel was pleasant, but it did leave a sour note. We might think twice about returning.
Always spotlessly clean. The pricing is fantastic, especially with three hotels so close to each other, and The Berkeley Square Hotel just a short two-minute stroll away. The breakfast selection is excellent. Due to time constraints and my last-minute booking, I had to opt for a shared bathroom, but to my surprise, it was no issue at all and was kept exceptionally tidy. The bed was quite low, barely a foot off the ground, but incredibly comfortable, and the pillows were top-notch. There was a plug socket by the bedside for my phone, which was a nice touch. The room was cozy and warm, perfect for a chilly January stay. It checked all the boxes, and I must say, with January being a quieter month for hospitality, it felt like a real bargain.
