I booked a two-night stay about a week in advance and, after reading some of the less favorable reviews, I felt a bit nervous. However, everything turned out wonderfully. I had reserved a larger room, which featured a massive king-size bed and a lovely table by the window with two chairs that offered a view of the Cathedral. The room was spotless and very comfortable. My only minor issue was the absence of biscuits to enjoy with the morning coffee provided in the room. The car park was quite busy on Saturday, but we managed to find a spot, and there were no problems at all on Sunday. We chose not to dine at the hotel since my wife isn't a breakfast person, and we had dinner reservations at Hotel du Vin on Saturday and Rick Stein's on Sunday, both of which were fantastic. It was great value for the money, and the location couldn't have been better. I would definitely book here again.
We had an amazing stay in a fantastic location, with our room offering a lovely view of Winchester Cathedral. It was ideal for exploring the Christmas market and the local shops. Breakfast was enjoyable, although on the second morning, the 'better' toaster was missing, and I had to request a plate since they weren't consistently stocked. I also noticed there was no decaffeinated tea available. All the food was beautifully presented, but I would have appreciated seeing allergen information next to each item. The evening meals served in the bar area were excellent. Arthur, the staff member in the bar, was especially helpful and friendly, making our experience even more pleasant. He also assisted during breakfast. Our room wasn't serviced until the afternoon, which was a bit unexpected, but it seemed the cleaning staff had a lot on their plates, so we completely understood that they prioritized preparing rooms for new arrivals. We would absolutely love to come back!
