Me, my husband and our two friends stayed at the Oyo Minerva bed and breakfast from Friday 21st February 2025 until Sunday 23rd February 2025. First impressions as we pulled up were very good. Perfect location, well kept property. Parking can be a challenge but we found a space right on the doorstep. We were welcomed by Owen. They had the decorators in to freshen the place up and it was looking very bright and airy Owen told us everything we needed to know about our stay then gave us the choice of the room with a balcony which had just recently been painted which was nice of him. We overlooked the beach which was beautiful. The room was really lovely. The decor was very modern, really homely. The bed was so comfy. The shower cubicle was huge and the shower was powerful. There was a kettle in the room with tea coffee milk sugar and cookies. Breakfast in the morning was beautiful. I chose warm waffles with cream syrup and fresh fruit, my husband and our friends had the full English which looked lovely. You could also have cereal, toast and yogurt. Tea and coffee, apple juice and orange juice, we were spoilt for choice. On Sunday I asked if the chef would make me a cheese omelette, it wasn't on the menu but she made me one. I was very impressed. Everyone was so friendly. Owen and Margaret were fantastic hosts, couldn't do enough for us. The Oyo Minerva bed and breakfast is an absolute gem you would be mad to not want to stay here. We will definitely be back.
We stayed at OYO Minerva Guesthouse while traveling home for my wife’s dad’s funeral, and it was an incredible experience. We booked the sea view room, and it was absolutely marvelous—clean, comfortable, and with a beautiful view. The service was beyond exceptional. Margaret and Owen went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of during a difficult time. Their kindness and attentiveness made all the difference. After the wake, we returned to the bar, and they graciously stayed open later, even though it was a Wednesday night. On top of that, the full English breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had—fresh, delicious, and the perfect way to start the day. The location is also perfect—just steps away from great coffee shops, local stores, and the beach, making it easy to enjoy the area with everything you need within walking distance. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Their hospitality and warmth made all the difference, and we are so grateful. Highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone looking for a welcoming and comfortable stay!
