We arrived late at night and had previously arranged for an airport transfer via email with the hotel manager. The responses were quick, and the driver was right there waiting for us with a sign. The cost for a one-way airport transfer is around 20 USD. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Deluxe Room since the standard rooms were unavailable due to renovations in the new wing. It was 2am when we discovered the air conditioning wasn’t working (likely due to a refrigerant issue). We called the front desk, and a staff member came to our room in the middle of the night to assist. He attempted to fix it but apologized and assured us it would be resolved by morning. We were moved to another room the next day, and everything was perfect from then on. Breakfast was absolutely delightful! The Fruit Platter and Pancakes are a must-try, paired with fresh juices or Balinese Coffee or tea. Everything is organic, which is a nice touch. The hotel offers shuttle services to Ubud market four times a day, just a quick 5-minute drive away. The last shuttle back to the hotel is at 11:00pm. The area is bustling with fantastic restaurants offering Italian, French, Indian, Balinese, and Fusion cuisine. You can find plenty of affordable and lovely artifacts, souvenirs, and handmade items. The massage and spa services are also very reasonably priced. Additionally, the hotel provides options for local tours at great rates. There’s a small to medium-sized swimming pool, and I enjoyed an early morning swim at sunrise—it was so peaceful and refreshing. We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and can’t wait to return!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Suly Resort in Ubud. The hotel offers fantastic value for money, and I truly felt like I was living in paradise. What stood out the most for me was the chance to connect with the hospitality students working at the resort. It felt like I was part of the local community, which made my stay even more special. The architecture has a charming old-world feel that adds character to the place, and it’s surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. My room was very clean, but just a heads up—due to the age of the buildings, there were a few holes in the walls, and I even had some mice join me! It turned into a fun little adventure for me and the students as we tried to chase them away. The pool is lovely with clean water, though I did notice some loose tiles, so it might not be the safest for small children. Still, it’s a beautiful spot to relax. I also had a blast participating in the Balinese cooking class and the temple offering workshop. They offer yoga and various creative classes, plus a spa, although I found that the spa services are more affordable and better at other places. I walked to the Monkey Forest twice, which took me about 20-30 minutes, but there’s a free shuttle bus and plenty of affordable transport options available, making it easy to explore while still enjoying the tranquility away from the town's hustle and bustle.
