We arrived at the hotel on the 7th of August. We were a bit concerned cause of some reviews we saw, so we ask at the lady on the front desk if she could show as our room before the check in. She accepted without hesitation, so we had some beer on the beach until the room was ready. I am socked by the misleading some people do throughout their reviews! The room? Perfect! Really clean and cozy with hot water at the shower. Ok it’s not new, it’s traditional and beautifully rustic, but I believe you can figure this out from the photos. Communication? They speak English better than our professors at school! As for some of the staff that didn’t, they are so kind and so helpful that you don’t need English to communicate with them, they make it absolutely easy! They helped with every situation we had and they provided very useful tips when we asked about activities nearby, even though they don’t profit from those. Honestly those guys are less than employees and more like family and they treat their guests accordingly! Thank you for everything, you made this 10 days a pure pleasure!
I really enjoyed the view. I had the balcony ocean view room. The balcony was 30 feet away from the beach. It was a spectacular view. The beach was well maintained with soft white sand. Very enjoyable. It was worth every penny based on that alone. There are some reviews that mention deficiencies. They are mostly right. There is a night club next door and the music can be quite loud. The facility is older and a bit run down. The room was not especially clean. None of these issues bothered me and I really enjoyed my stay. Would absolutely stay in this this room again. Keep in mind this is not a luxury hotel so the view and the beach is the highlight. It's also in the heart of downtown Playa Del Carmen and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Good location for anyone interested in the night life.
