It’s summer, and for us, this means seeing a lot of new energetic faces around office. We have often talked about our flat structure and the ownership employees get for their projects – our interns are treated no different. Abhishek Mallick, Intern (Aug 2016 to February 2017)
My internship at OYO gave me confidence and helped me realize my market value. I always thought I could be good at sales, but never really got any professional experience. I’m pursuing my BBA from Alliance University, Bangalore, so my family and friends were against my going to Jaipur for my internship at OYO. However, taking this step, paid off extremely well.
At OYO, whether you are an intern or a manager, you get all the ownership of the work you do. My colleagues and my manager were always available to help me at any given hour. I also learned a lot about how modern day hospitality works and about the importance of customer experience.

During my internship at OYO, I got a chance to work for one of the new projects that the company was testing. I was involved in demand generation and on-ground work. Although I started with a three-month internship program, I was so happy with the learning opportunities, I got it extended it to 6 months.
The best thing about interning at OYO is the support you get from your seniors. Whenever you need help, they are always there. Also, company’s CEO, Ritesh is extremely approachable and down to earth and getting to meet him was the highlight of my time at OYO.

Practical experience is usually the best, and internships give students the hands-on experience they need. Skills such as multitasking, communication, working with cross-functional teams and performing under pressure to meet deadlines can be learned only in a professional setup.
During my time at OYO, I learned a lot about customer experience. Before my internship, I had no idea that the hardest person to please is not your boss, but the customer. The companies that learn to deliver on the customer’s expectations shine. And, that is exactly what OYO is doing.
Working at OYO not only gave me business perspective but also made me realize the importance of teamwork and that worrying doesn’t solve anything. But acting on the things that worry you does.

Life has been a wonderful joyride for the past 6 months at OYO. With no idea of how a start-up works and lots of expectations, I became a part of the company. Things change very rapidly here, and you get to learn multiple things. In my time here, I got an opportunity to work with 3 different teams. The best thing about interning here is that you get to see the impact of your work.
The atmosphere in the company is extremely positive. Each day at OYO will excite you as much as your favourite sports.
