1. Deekshabhoomi

The religious monument is one of the most important places to visit in Nagpur and is frequented by travelers and followers of Buddhism. The Buddhist pilgrimage centre was constructed in the memory of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian constitution and his event of embracing Buddhism. Along with him, his 60,000 followers got ordained to Buddhism.

Also known as Dhamma Chakra Stupa, it features a huge whitewashed dome and is the biggest stupa in Asia. The temple structure is famous for its architectural beauty, and is built out of Dhaulpur sandstone, marbles, and granites. It can accommodate over 5,000 people at a time. Spend a few moments of solitude in prayer and browse through the magnificent bronze statue of Buddha and other paintings adorning the temple walls.

2. Futala Lake

Nagpur is the land of many lakes, and Futala Lake is one of the most famous tourist places to visit in Nagpur. Also known as the Telankhedi Lake, it is located in the western part of Nagpur, and is said to be over two centuries old. The beautiful lake, which sprawls across an area of over 60 acres, was built by Raja Bhosle and is a favourite picnic spot for the locals. 3. Ramtek Fort

This fort – temple is perched on top of a hill in Ramtek in the outskirts of Nagpur and makes for a pleasant place for one day picnic with family and friends. 4. Maharaj Bagh and Zoo

Built during the times of the Bhonsle and Maratha rulers, the enticing park was recently renovated into a botanical garden and zoo and houses rare species of flora and fauna. 5. Ambazari Lake

Nagpur being the land of lakes, eleven to be precise, Ambazari Lake is one of the most famous tourist places to visit in Nagpur, mainly because it is the largest and one of the most beautiful lakes in India. While here, you can enjoy boating in rowboats and self-driven paddleboats, musical fountains and joyful rides, which all add up to the thrill and excitement of visiting the lake. The lake is situated slightly away from the heart of Nagpur and is looked after and maintained by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. It was initially built in the year 1870, under Bhonsle Dynasty, for supplying water to the city.

Just beside the lake, one can find the Ambazari Garden that spreads over an area of 20 acres, and is particularly popular amongst children as an amusement park. The garden also has demarcated pavements for people to jog or walk on in the mornings and the evenings.

6. Khindsi Lake

The wildlife sanctuary is also home to many endangered species including Black Panther, sloth bear, wild dog, and leopards.
