Discover the Heart of Sufism at Ajmer-e-Sharif

Ajmer-e-Sharif, located near a lake and surrounded by a wall built by Emperor Akbar, is definitely worth visiting. It is the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty and is renowned worldwide. An atmosphere of spirituality envelopes the shrine with the scent of fresh flowers and incense whirling around. In addition, a large amount of food is prepared every night to be distributed among the public in the form of Tabarruk, which refers to the blessing given after the morning prayers.

Shops line the streets outside the Dargah, selling items such as perfumes, sweets, flowers, chadars or clothes offered to the Khwaja. A series of silver doors with striking carvings welcome visitors to the Dargah. The doors lead into a marble courtyard that is a shelter for Moinuddin Chishti’s tomb.

While leaving the Dargah compound, don’t miss the massive cooking utensil, Badi Deg. It is believed that throwing money into the vessel will bring all your wishes true. It is a captivating experience for visitors to attend Mehfil-e-Sama during the evening rituals. Gold plating covers the top of the Dargah, and a silver railing and marble screen guard it.

Significance of the Dargah
