The Chembra Lake is one of the best places for the trekkers because it can be done within a day and takes just 3 hours to reach at the topmost point. An overnight stay is not at all advised because of wild animals lurking around. Cars are not allowed after a certain point so you will have to trek your way up. The road is quite rough and slippery and you need to be careful. The final destination is amazingly beautiful mostly because the entry fee is high (lesser crowds) and the area is plastic free. It is worth a visit for trekking enthusiasts.
This is for the people who cannot go up till the highest point. It gives you a wonderful view of the whole of Wayanad. This is the starting point of the trek and you can only go till the lake. The peak is 1.5 km away from the lake and tourists are not allowed to trek till there for various reasons. You can’t also camp in the Chembra Lake because it is not permitted. The trek starts at 7 AM and will conclude by 2 PM.
