Delhi is a busy city and hence not everyone has the time to go shopping on weekdays due to their hectic work schedules. Thankfully, there are some markets in Delhi that remain open on Sundays or open only on Sundays and that makes shopping so much easier for the residents of Delhi. Because these are Sunday markets, they also tend to have a very laid back vibe and it is actually a lot of fun shopping in these markets. Here are some Sunday Bazaar in Delhi:
This market started in 2008 with the objective of empowering the women of the underprivileged section of the society and has been operating ever since. It started off as an SEWA initiative and today it is a bustling market where women vendors come with their fares and are now economically well off. The bazaar opens at 9 am every Sunday and closes at 5 pm and all kinds of items are sold here like clothes, junk jewelry, cosmetics, bags and shoes and many other items and all of them are handmade by the women who sell them.
Location: Opposite Ramlila Ground, Ajmeri Gate
This Daryaganj Sunday Book Bazaar also opens only on Sundays and it is a haven for the book lovers in the city. The vendors set up stalls on either side of the road and you get a large number of old as well as new books here. The students who are busy on other days mostly come here on Sundays and this is one of the most charming places in Delhi. You might have to search to get the book you want and then bargain with the shopkeeper as well, but the whole exercise is worth it which only book lovers will know.

While other markets remain open throughout the week and shut down on Sundays, Khan Market remains open on Sundays as well. This market was established in 1954 with the purpose of providing employment to the immigrants who had come in from Pakistan during Independence and the market is named after Khan Abdul Jabbar Khan, who had settled many immigrants here. All the items sold here have fixed prices and the market sells branded cosmetics, Ayurvedic food stuff, clothes, books and items of home décor. There are also a number of restaurants and eateries here which are mostly filled with youngsters on Sundays.

One of the largest markets in Delhi, this market is a favorite among shoppers. It is mostly known for its readymade garments and fabrics and there are also stores which are dedicated to jewelry, luggage and there are showrooms for cars and bikes as well. Prices here are not fixed so you have to bargain quite a lot for the things you need.
This market is located off Connaught Place and is a very popular Sunday market in the city. People come here from all parts of the city and all walks of society to get a bargain here. This market has a dedicated Tibetan section where the Tibetan refugees come and sell handmade items ranging from woolen garments, and Tibetan art and craft. Antiques, curios and souvenirs are found here and almost everything is handmade.

One of the more upscale and trendiest markets of Delhi, this market has many showrooms of branded clothes and products and are regularly visited by the trendy youngsters of the city. Yet, the market is still somewhat affordable which is why college goes find them very trendy. The market also sells bags, jewelry and cosmetics, along with belts and shoes. There are also fashionable items of home décor available.

The Lajpat Nagar market also remains open on Sundays and it is one of the best places in Delhi to enjoy the taste of India’s rich heritage. Prices here are quite reasonable and there are many renowned stores in the heart of the city. There are goods ranging from furnishings to clothing and what is notable about this place is that this market has a lot of Mehendi-walis, which is why young girls and ladies come here frequently to get their mehendi done. The central location of the market also helps.

This market is famous for the fashion brands it sells and there are many showrooms here dedicated to them. The stores are mostly located around Chota Gol Chakkar and Bara Gol Chakkar of the market and it is a great place to shop for designer garments on a Sunday. Kamla Nagar is also notable because of the street food vendors and so you can enjoy spicy bites, along with tea or lassi while you are out shopping, making your Sunday outing perfect.

As the name would tell you, this is an extension of South Delhi circle and the market caters to those who are out seeking designer labels and all kinds of branded clothes, jewelry and accessories are available here. This market is well known because of its good quality products and their reasonable rates. There are also a number of prominent eateries and restaurants here and they are full to the brim on Sundays with families and youngsters alike.

This list would not be complete without the Dilli Haat, perhaps the most noted of the Sunday markets in Delhi. This haat, or marketplace, is a hub for buying traditional and handmade goods made all over India and there are a number of traditional stalls here as well. Almost all the items made here are handmade and made by craftsmen across India who want to keep their craftsmanship alive. A nominal entry charge has to be paid which goes towards the maintenance and upkeep of the market compound. You will find clothes, bags, accessories, jewelry, home décor and so much more, all in the same place.
