1. Mahila Bazaar

This market started in 2008 with the objective of empowering the women of the underprivileged section of the society and has been operating ever since. It started off as an SEWA initiative and today it is a bustling market where women vendors come with their fares and are now economically well off. The bazaar opens at 9 am every Sunday and closes at 5 pm and all kinds of items are sold here like clothes, junk jewelry, cosmetics, bags and shoes and many other items and all of them are handmade by the women who sell them.

2. Daryaganj Book Market

This Daryaganj Sunday Book Bazaar also opens only on Sundays and it is a haven for the book lovers in the city. The vendors set up stalls on either side of the road and you get a large number of old as well as new books here. The students who are busy on other days mostly come here on Sundays and this is one of the most charming places in Delhi. You might have to search to get the book you want and then bargain with the shopkeeper as well, but the whole exercise is worth it which only book lovers will know.

3. Khan Market

While other markets remain open throughout the week and shut down on Sundays, Khan Market remains open on Sundays as well. This market was established in 1954 with the purpose of providing employment to the immigrants who had come in from Pakistan during Independence and the market is named after Khan Abdul Jabbar Khan, who had settled many immigrants here. All the items sold here have fixed prices and the market sells branded cosmetics, Ayurvedic food stuff, clothes, books and items of home décor. There are also a number of restaurants and eateries here which are mostly filled with youngsters on Sundays.

4. Karol Bagh

One of the largest markets in Delhi, this market is a favorite among shoppers. It is mostly known for its readymade garments and fabrics and there are also stores which are dedicated to jewelry, luggage and there are showrooms for cars and bikes as well. Prices here are not fixed so you have to bargain quite a lot for the things you need.

5. Janpath and Tibetan Market

This market is located off Connaught Place and is a very popular Sunday market in the city. People come here from all parts of the city and all walks of society to get a bargain here. This market has a dedicated Tibetan section where the Tibetan refugees come and sell handmade items ranging from woolen garments, and Tibetan art and craft. Antiques, curios and souvenirs are found here and almost everything is handmade.
