Best Time To Visit Havelock Island

The best time to visit Havelock Island is anytime between the months of October and May. This time of the year usually guarantees clean, calm and soothing waters which help you indulge in water sports such as snorkelling, coral hunting and scuba diving. There is a rush of tourists from December-January, avoid visiting in the monsoon. The temperature remains moderate between 23-30 degrees Celsius throughout the year and rainfall is witnessed on a regular basis in the afternoons for short durations.

You can book a seaplane and take an exciting ride right to Port Blair and back in only 15 minutes or so. Only 9 passengers can be carried at a time and you should book in advance. This is one of the most thrilling experiences for travellers.

If you have leisure time at your disposal, an auto-rickshaw or a scooter ride would be comfortable for exploring the island blissfully at your own leisure.

How to reach Havelock Island

Havelock Island is located around 40 kilometres to the north east from Port Blair which is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. You can fly to Port Blair from all major  Indian cities.

There are private/government ferries and ships which frequently go to Havelock Island from Port Blair and also from Neil Island. You can expect to complete this journey in around 60-90 minutes. Book your tickets earlier to avoid any last-minute shenanigans.
