We usually just take day trips to Newport, but we needed to be there early in the morning so my wife booked this room because the rate was very reasonable. For the price the room was really large (for an inexpensive hotel on the coast), clean and comfortable. The bed was pretty soft, but I slept fine on it. The service was good and it was walking distance from our favorite beach in town, Nye Beach. That’s saying a lot for me because I have an injured ankle and can’t walk long distances. The breakfast was somewhat standard: cereal, yogurt, make your own waffles, etc. No protein like eggs, bacon or sausage but there are plenty of breakfast options in town for that. We have saved them in our favorites and will definitely use them again if we need to stay overnight in Newport. Oh yeah, the view of the ocean was great!!!
Overall great experience, great location with a quick and easy maybe 5 minute walk to the coast or shops in town. Or if you don’t want to go all the way down you can go out behind the hotel and look over the lands edge for a gorgeous view. Quick drive into Newport to check out the town, 15-20 minutes to Depoe Bay or Lincoln City. The pool was nice and warm, only wish it could have been open later. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Shower was a bit small and the shampoo and body wash provided aren’t the best but did the job. Front desk was really nice and provided us with extra toiletries/towels when we asked. I would stay here again if/when we make a trip back down to Newport.
