This place was an unexpected gem. I wasn't expecting a five-star luxury resort because that wasn't what I was paying for. I was expecting something more like Motel 6 or Super 8. Instead, it was far nicer than many Best Westerns I've stayed at. My room was lovely and spotlessly clean, with a wonderful ocean view. The location was extremely quiet, well off the main highway, and offered a walking route along the bluff overlooking the ocean. Best of all, the front desk staff were kind, caring, and helpful human beings, rather than the usual interchangeable robot-like creatures I usually find at budget motels. Was this a splendid seaside resort? No. Would I stay there again, and recommend it to other budget travelers? Absolutely. Thank you for a delightful stay! P.S. The doors need painting, but don't be put off by the outside, because the rooms are lovely on the inside.
The front desk staff were amazing during check in. The bathroom is on the small side but the room itself was very spacious and nice. There is shampoo but bring your own conditioner. Also, there weren't really towel racks either. The location is amazing, the beach is just a few blocks down the road along with several restaurants and shops. We stayed during the weekday so it was nice and quiet. The breakfast is just bagels, yogurt, etc. However most places don't offer breakfast so I considered this a bonus. I would definitely stay here again. All hotels in the area have increased rates during summer weekend stays so I could definitely see why some reviewers might not be as happy with the stay. Compared to other hotels in the area though I thought it was a great value.
