This hotel is in a great location right in NYE beach you can walk right to all the shops and beach. Your kinda up on a hill so its not right ON the beach so you do have to walk some to get down to the beach but its not far at all. Some rooms have a great view of the ocean and beach. This is a great hotel for families and people with dogs!! This is why we choose this hotel. The rooms have been remodeled with laminate floors and cute decor and the beds are comfortable enough and the pool and hot tub are open till 11 and indoor. The staff is super friendly! This is not your romantic get away type of place. I mean it could be but its more of a fun family dog friendly not super quiet place. Which is perfect for us. In general there is not many "luxury" hotels on the Oregon coast so if your looking for luxury this is not it. Go to Salishan, or the Stephanie Inn where kids and dogs are not allowed. There is some work that needs to be done in the pool area ceiling but like most coast hotels they all need work somewhere. Yet having worked many years in hotels this one is clean and much nicer than many others. I will definitely be back. Also there is a cool skate park right across the street! So next time we will bring stuff for the kids to play there. Also competed to Old Town Newport it does not smell like dead fish and you will not be woken at 4am by all of the fishing boats loading up and leaving.
For the cost this hotel was great. It doesn't have direct beach access but beach access was only a couple blocks away. The view from our 2nd floor room was gorgeous. The staff was wonderful. The rooms were clean, but on a surface level, they definitely need a little more attention and probably a deep clean. One of our windows was missing a screen which was scary with my young kid and dog but we just kept that one closed. The beds weren't great but good enough, although there were some stains on the sheets. The bathroom was clean but the shower knob was very loose and it either made the water too hot or too cold. The building we were in had an elevator which was a major plus. The pool included a sauna and a hot tub which was amazing, but it could definitely use some updating, there were holes in the ceiling wall and it looked pretty dingy but the pool/hot tub/sauna were clean so that's all that really matters. Above all else, they didn't kick us out when my autistic kiddo had a pretty bad meltdown on our last night, which I was nervous about given how loud she was. Overall, for the price it was fantastic, it could definitely use some updating to really improve things, but we enjoyed our stay.
