Literally just left the place. Let me just say that I’ve NEVER written a review in my life but I couldn’t possibly say enough kind about my experience at Lloyd’s. My life long hero, my grandfather, was named Lloyd. I relocated to the area a year ago, alone ,looking for a new start in hopes of somewhere that felt like home after losing my five closest family members within about 3 year span. When I turned left on the bridge was the first time I saw Lloyd’s and I remember feeling instantly I had made the right choice and have loved my home in Bryson city every day since. Having just been through the flood in a severely affected part of the area I’m not sure what the Creator had in the plans for me next but the first location I called for lodging informed me they didn’t take locals, two rivers, which at any other time would be understandable . In the midst of a communal tragedy tho when people of the community have lost everything and who are in need of their neighbors I was disheartened to say the least. I’m so glad I decided to book with Lloyds because even though each day seems to be hanging in the balance right now I couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. Did I mention I suffer from agoraphobia so the necessity to stay anywhere other than home is no small feat for me. In fact it’s near impossible. I can say with absolute certainty that in one short evening I was made to feel as secure as I would at home and a little less displaced, in a way that encompasses not only my sense of safety but of belonging as well. Which is something that’s priceless when you walk you are used to standing on your own. The rooms are clean, the hospitality is impeccable and the overall atmosphere is something that puts the local competitors at a great disadvantage. It won’t be my last visit and I will be anticipating my return with intentions of making the most of stay there where I was made to feel like family for the first time since the last time mine was with me. I know it seems silly but we never know who’s life that the smallest act of kindness can make a world of difference in. Thank you Wil for what you bring to the Creators magnificent plan .
Understand this is an older roadside hotel, but they are actively updating it! It was super clean, brand new mattresses, brand new carpet! We also choose a room on the river which has a back porch with rocking chairs. They have multiple picnic tables and grills outside by the river. It is pet friendly and I enjoy watching the puppers playing in the river. You can also fish there (as long as you have your state fishing license). The staff are always so nice and welcoming as well! We have been 2 times so far and we plan many more trips. When you leave the hotel turn left and drive 5ish mins and your in Bryson City downtown, turn right and drive 7ish minutes and your in downtown Cherokee. Great location!! This isn't a 5 star-hotel, this is a roadside motel! It is clean, there is wifi and direct tv, doordash delivers there, great staff, and just a pleasant place. The pool is currently closed for renovations, fingers crossed its ready next summer!
