Holy canoli the staff were sooo nice!!! On January 13th when the snow storm hit and I5 south was shut down for hours, i decided to stay at the oyo for the night for obvious reasons. My mom is the one who booked the hotel for me online because I'm disabled and low income. When i arrived, I was frustrated at the traffic and in pain, i was limping, using my cane and struggling to walk due to sitting in my car for an hour, fighting traffic and battling the snow. When the lady working the counter told me the deposit needed to be paid in person, I started to cry. It wasn't their fault, I know it's policy and they have no control. Then another man came out from the back and informed me there were no ground floor rooms. I cried a bit harder and apologized to them. They were very helpful in explaining who to call to ask for a refund for the room and that they would verify that they had "overbooked" so that i would be able to get my money back. Then as i leave, another lady (i belive was also on staff member?) who had been in the lobby, came rushing out and told me they think they have a room for me. The man ran out, checked and found the room, got the heater turned on for me, and they waved the deposit for me. The 2nd lady actually helped me carry things to my car. They were all so nice. The room that they put me in had been considered "down for maintenance" due to the ac leaking and causing some (not noticeable to me at all) water damage on the floor. I regret not getting the staff members' names. Every single staff member who was there on the 13th were the kindest and most helpful people. They went above and beyond to help someone struggling, and i just need to say how much i appreciate every single one of them. I only gave 4 stars on the room cause the beds are a little springy, but everything else was very clean, the bedding smelled freshly washed, and it was decently dusted in there. If i could give 10 stars for customer service, i would! Thank you all so much!!
A bit of an odd experience but it worked out in the end. Tried to book through Airbnb, but when I got to the hotel, they said they didn’t have an Airbnb listing and thought that listing might be a scam. Excellent price for a room. And like all the other reviews say, they are clean and updated. Although there is a bit wear on the rooms otherwise. The TV and refrigerator were new. All of their single occupancy rooms are located on the backside of the hotel. Which you cannot drive to. You have to park in the front and walk to the back. So I couldn’t unload a lot of things I wanted to for the night because it would’ve taken multiple trips. I also couldn’t watch My Car to make sure it was safe in an area I’m unfamiliar with. I’m not sure I would stay here as a single woman traveling again. As the room had obviously been broken into at some point, The safety latch had been busted off the wall. Which left only the deadbolt on a electric lock. And I wasn’t sure how safe that was so ended up having to prop a chair up against the handle. Also, there is a lot of noise from the freeway, which is super close to the back of the hotel. All in all, everything was fine and I slept OK. The price cannot be beat. And you never find hotels in this price range that are this clean. The hotel is obviously on an upswing. Which is why I gave them four stars instead of three.
