You get what you pay for - a semi-decent place to stay, but at a very reasonable price. It's a good place to stop just before making the trip into Death Valley or Vegas. The attendant was very nice and helpful - probably the best thing about the place as it's clear they want you to feel welcome. The rooms come with a comfy bed, a working microwave, fridge and TV. The shower is also really good! The only downside is the rooms are quite dated and the floors pick up a lot of dust, but if you can look past that, they do the job for giving you a decent night's sleep. The door can be triple locked, which made me feel safe. The location is good in terms of being near a gas station and a Walmart, though the neighbourhood doesn't exactly feel the safest. I'd recommend you try to park as close to your room as possible to ensure you can keep an eye on everything. All in all, fine to use as a stop off for the night, but I wouldn't stay long term. I almost feel like the attendant deserves to be running a better place more suited to who they are. Worth it for the price if you're looking for a stop off before heading into the desert.
We stayed here for a night during our road trip on Highway 395 and had a great experience. The service staff was friendly and helpful, always willing to solve any issues. We initially booked a room with a queen bed but were able to upgrade to a king bed, which was a nice surprise. Special thanks to the manager for promptly contacting us when we accidentally left a bag in the room and arranging to ship it back to us. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay before heading to Death Valley, 395, or the PCT, this is a good choice, good restaurants in the town too!
