I experienced mixed emotions during my stay. While the location was convenient, there were significant discrepancies in the cleanliness of the rooms assigned to myself and my colleague. My room on the first floor appeared to have not been mopped properly, and upon closer inspection, I noticed soap scum on the sink and hair in the shower. Additionally, the bed emitted an unpleasant animal-like odor. When I requested a change of sheets, I was provided with brand-new, sealed sheets, which alleviated my concerns about potential odors. Ms. Straw was exceptionally accommodating and exerted additional effort to ensure my comfort. She provided me with various options to either change rooms or resolve the existing issue. Furthermore, she patiently and comprehensively addressed all my inquiries, ensuring my full understanding. She even demonstrated how to connect my laptop to the Wi-Fi and operate the room lights. Her exceptional service is worthy of recognition and compensation. The hotel's proximity to my intended destinations was convenient, especially considering my unfamiliarity with the area. Its location right off the freeway and the abundance of nearby dining options were additional advantages. While there were some challenges, such as the room situation and unpleasant odors, the hotel offered reasonable value for its price. I have encountered inferior accommodations that charged significantly higher rates.
Everything was great... except for the unannounced, and poorly explained, $25 room 'checkout fee' that was charged. I was told this would be refunded to my card, upon room inspection and checkout. But the full charge (with the $25) went through, and I'm still waiting for the $25 checkout refund to be applied three days later (!!). This policy, and it's process, needs to be reviewed and altered. Charge what you say you will charge, and leave it at that.
