my family and i were looking for budget friendly and dog friendly accommodations for our long weekend trip to DC. on the drive down from philly i read negative review after negative review and was wondering what we would find upon arrival. we were very pleasantly surprised! our room was small but it was as described. 2 double beds, a/c a small table and a tv with cable. we didn’t travel to DC to hang out in a motel room. we really only needed it to sleep in and to leave our dog in. it was clean. beds were comfortable. no smell of cigarettes at all in our room or in the hallway. staff was friendly. we walked our dog all around the surrounding neighborhood which was quiet, safe and quite lovely. there is a whole foods market 2 blocks away and it was a 10 minute walk to the takoma metro stop on the red line. there was no extra charge or deposit to have our dog there. although we didn’t utilize it, there was a nice, sizable grass fenced in yard for pets to do their business. overall it was a great stay for a very affordable price and only 5 miles to downtown. i would consider staying there again. i never write reviews but i wanted to set the record straight after reading all of those terrible reviews.
The front desk person. We asked for a non smoking room. And when we got to it reeked of cigarette smoke. We returned to the desk and asked for a new room. We were immediately assigned another room. This quick serving. Trusting our word made the time in DC very satisfying.
