We were already headed towards San Antonio during a holiday weekend when I checked my email and realized our lodging had been canceled. Hotel rooms were in high demand so the few that were available were priced high. We decided to book Motel 6 Downtown and were skeptical at first, but ended up pleasantly surprised. The room was decently clean (I do bring my own pillow, fitted sheet, and comforter). The location was extremely convenient and you can walk to McDonald’s in 30 seconds. I felt completely safe and actually enjoyed the palm trees throughout the property. I believe this location is family owned, and the people at the front desk are polite and helpful. They truly went above and beyond for us on two different occasions. After a Saturday night out, we came back at around 2am and it was nice to see an employee actively walking around and monitoring the property. This was nice because there are homeless people around the area like any downtown, but this motel proactively tries to prevent the homeless from bothering their guests. Initially we booked this room as a last minute thing, but I’m going to consider staying here again in the future to save money.
My husband and I enjoy the close proximity to the Riverwalk and other favorable places to visit. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are well kept. My favorite thing is the comfortable beds. I will visit again and again.
